1-on-1 with Aspen Dental – Meet Jamie
We hope you’ve enjoyed our 1-on-1 with Aspen Dental series thus far. Through this series, we hope you’ll get a better understanding of our core values and learn a little more about the people who you see during your appointments.
This week we’d like to introduce one of the newest members of our Hygiene team, Jamie. Jamie recently moved to Denver from California and is excited about getting to utilize Colorado to its full potential. We’re thrilled to have her on board here at Aspen Dental and we’re excited to introduce her to you! I asked her a few questions. Here’s what she had to say:
Q: Hey, Jamie! Tell me why you decided on dental hygiene? Did you always want to become a dental hygienist, or how did you fall into this career path?
A: Dental hygiene was always in the back on my mind. My family talked me out of it early on to pursue my passion with art instead. Before I started hygiene, I went to Art School where I concentrated in graphic design.
Q: Very interesting. So, how did you get your start as a Hygienist?
A: When I graduated Art School the economy was is really rough shape, so I decided to go to Hygiene school. I had always had an interest in dental hygiene so I was able to quickly embrace the change. I immediately knew that I had made the right choice.
Q: Mutli-dimensional, we like that here. What keeps you motivated at work? What do you pride yourself on?
A: Being a Hygienist requires me to constantly be on my toes. I like staying busy at work. It helps me stay focused and benefits the patients when I can do same day treatment. I like when our team works together in order to give our patients the best treatment in the most comfortable setting possible. At the end of the day it’s really rewarding when you can give your patients an optimal experience.
Q: How long have you been here at Aspen Dental and why do you enjoy working here? In your opinion, what differentiates us from other offices in Denver?
A: I started working at Aspen Dental in mid-September. I love this office because there is commotion, it’s not static. There’s always something going on, always something new to learn, or a teammate to help out. We always have good discussion with our patients and we work together to help make the day run as smoothly as possible. Office flow and atmosphere is something that patients can pick up on almost immediately as they walk in the door. We’ve put together some really great systems to help optimize efficiency and patient comfort.
Q: I definitely agree. Now for the fun stuff. You’ve only been in Denver for a short time, but what are some of your hobbies outside of the office?
A: I’m artistic and creative so I like to roll up my sleeves and do things that allow me to use those skills. I also love hosting parties over the holidays or for football games, getting together with friends and family, and cooking.
