1-on-1 with Aspen Dental – Meet Kristin

We hope you enjoyed our last 1-on-1 with Aspen Dental Q&A article highlighting our newest hygienist, Jamie. We hope that it helped you understand her journey, her passion for dentistry, and her personality. Next, I’d like to introduce you to another one of our hygienists, Kristin. Kristin has been with us at Aspen Dental since July of this year and enjoys providing her patients with a comprehensive approach to dentistry, where education, communication, and patient comfort are paramount. I asked her a few questions. Here’s what she had to share:

Q: Kristin, let’s jump right into it. How did you decide to pursue a career in dental hygiene?
A:
It was my dream to pursue a life-long career of helping people. I grew up around a dental office and saw firsthand the difference a good Dental Hygienist could make – one that can encourage good habits, educate, and help patients achieve optimal oral health.

Q: How did you get your start as a Hygienist?
A:
After seeing my family excel in the dental field, I opted to apply for my first job as a Dental Assistant when I was 14. I really enjoyed what I was doing so I decided to apply to Hygiene school 10 years later.

Q: Wow, dental assistant at age 14! Impressive. You’ve been in the dental field for some time now. What keeps you motivated at work? What are you able to take pride in?
A:
Prevention is key. I enjoy delivering quality care and seeing my patients become healthier at every visit. It’s rewarding to watch my patients’ progress and achieve their oral health goals.

Q: Awesome! How long have you been with us here at Aspen Dental and why do you enjoy working here? What makes us different than some of the other offices in the Denver area?
A:
I started here at Aspen Dental in July 2016 and I love working with a team that takes pride in their work. No matter who you see in our office, your care won’t be compromised. We’re all working toward a common goal, founded on collective core values. We really have a great team here.

Q: I couldn’t agree more. So, what kinds of things do you do in your free time outside of the office?
A:
Outside of the office I am a full-time Mom. I also love cooking and baking and spending time with my friends and family.
