1-on-1 with Aspen Dental – Meet Nichole
Last week we highlighted Cathy, one of our hygienists here at Aspen Dental who has been with us for nearly 8 years. If you haven’t read Cathy’s Q&A you can click here! Next up on our list to introduce is our hygienist, Nichole. Nichole has been with us for 4 years in August, where she’s worked as a receptionist, hygiene coordinator, and now as a hygienist. She’s far from one dimensional. Her thorough knowledge of dentistry, both front office and back office, hardly compare to the level of care and commitment she provides to her patients. Let’s go!
Q: Nichole, why did you decide to pursue a career in dental hygiene? Was it something you always knew you wanted to do?
A: After I graduated high school, I got a summer job at a dental office helping out at the front desk. This is when I fell in love with dentistry and realized that I wanted to pursue a career in the field. Before that, my goal was to become a teacher but I switched gears and decided to go the dental hygiene route.
Q: How did you get your start as a hygienist?
A: I worked at Aspen Dental for a few years while attending dental hygiene school, where I was a receptionist, insurance coordinator, and hygiene coordinator. It really helped me to understand the administrative side of dentistry, which makes it easier for me to communicate to my patients now that I’m a hygienist.
Q: Nice! Hardly a one trick pony. So, what motivates you at work? What do you take pride in?
A: I get motivation from my patients and my co-workers. I absolutely love my job and am committed to my patients and to what I do. It’s an incredible feeling to see improvements in my patients and to help them live healthier lives. That’s what really keeps me motivated.
Q: Great team, great patients! You’ve mentioned that you’ve been with Aspen Dental for almost 4 years. Why do you enjoy working at Aspen Dental? What makes Aspen Dental unique or different than many of the other Denver dental offices?
A: That’s right, it’ll be 4 years in August! I thoroughly enjoy the work environment and culture here at Aspen Dental. I also enjoy meeting new people and building long-lasting relationships with my patients – something that we pride ourselves on here. In my opinion, Aspen Dental is different because we truly care about our patients on a personal level and we are committed to providing the best treatment possible. You’re not just a number here.
Q: Very true. Last question. What sorts of hobbies do you have? What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
A: I’m an avid snowboarder in the winter and love going on hikes or camping in the mountains in the summertime. Honestly anything outdoors, I’m there!
